Case in the Hospital: Spider Bite

By March 24, 2017Blog

A 2-year-old canine presented to our Emergency service with a very painful bulls-eye wound consistent with a spider bite; likely a Brown Recluse. She was treated with one injection of buprenorphine, one injection of Baytril, and two Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy sessions over the next 7 hours.

The inflammation quickly resolved, and the patient was discharged back to her primary care veterinarian the following morning.

Its Hurricane Season!
